The on-campus recruiting program begins each year in October and ends in April. This program attracts employers from around the country. UT Career Services uses an employer pre-screening system for campus interview sign-ups that allows you to select in advance of your arrival, the candidates you want to interview (preselect). You simply tell us your hiring needs and minimum qualifications. Students will be informed of your upcoming visit and these specifications. Qualified students will submit resumes that you can view on the web using your unique username and password. After you select those with whom you would like to interview, a schedule will be built for you. UT Career Services uses CareerConnectionsTM, which allows you to manage your UT recruiting schedule from anywhere in the world! Suggested Timeline for Campus Visits Every effort will be made to accommodate your
travel plans, but for best results and maximum company exposure, it is
recommended that you contact us at least one month in advance of your
planned trip to Knoxville. The MBA calendar is slightly different than
the regular UT campus calendar and is always packed with events. Please
contact MBA Career Services at (865) 974-1774 for available dates. In the event you are unable to travel to Knoxville
to conduct interviews, a personal videoconferencing unit is available
to allow interviewing between the Career Services Office and your location.
You may also want to consider using this equipment for second interviews
or meetings with faculty. This unit uses the Intel ProShare System which
is PC based and very inexpensive to use. A great deal of MBA recruitment activity takes
place by resume referral. To take advantage of this service, send us a
job description and we will send you the resumes of those students meeting
the minimum qualifications. You may then follow up directly with those
candidates to conduct a telephone interview or other type of screening.
Information Sessions/General Presentations We highly recommend an information session as a means of promoting your organization. These meetings are typically held in the evening and begin anywhere from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. They usually last approximately 2 hours. The most successful presentations involve alumni who are currently employed by the company and a key decision-makereither the functional manager or a human resources manager. If at all possible, it is also helpful to have an executive participate in the visit. For maximum exposure, it is recommended that arrangements for information sessions be made one month prior to the actual day of interviews. Contact the MBA Career Services Office for available dates, locations, catering and other information. |
